Jose Andrade

Bio

José Andrade is a Fort Worth native who grew up in the polytechnic Heights pyramid having graduated from polytechnic highschool in 2015 and Texas Wesleyan University in 2021. Jose is a long time member of the guitar studio family and the last student to receive a Bachelor's of Music in Guitar performance and pedagogy under the direction and guidance of his late mentor and beloved professor, Michael Dailey.

Jose's love for the guitar starts very early as a teen. He picked up the electric guitar at the age of 14 for the sole purpose of being in metal and hard rock bands, but his ambition and passion for music would eventually have him playing various styles over the years that include his favorites genres, Mariachi, trío románticos, and classical.

​

During his time at Texas Wesleyan, Jose performed in various ensembles including a men's choir and chamber singers which for him was a first, but never out of his nature to try something new. He has also performed for the Texas Wesleyan President honors recital which is the highest achievement a student musician at Wesleyan can earn and continues to volunteer with various ensembles as a graduate, especially with Texas wesleyan's Very own Mariachi Oro azul!

As a freelance musician, José has performed with various mariachi groups and as a solo guitarist. Jose has played in many of the wonderful venues in fort worth including the City Club of Fort Worth and The Bass Performance Hall.

In the near Future, Jose plans to study at SWBTS and Begin his M.M. under the direction of Dr. Will Douglas, with the purpose of keeping the legacy, Spirit and teachings of Michael Dailey alive, while inspiring and mentoring students and sharing the love of the guitar like his mentor before him.
